The U.S. Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) purchased Global Broadcast Service (GBS) satellite terminals from PathFinder Digital under the terms of a contract that the company announced on Thursday.

PathFinder will supply the NIWC with BAT-GBS-85 terminals that are operable in X-, Ka- and Ku-bands and packaged in two airline checkable transit cases. The GBS line supports broadcast capabilities for timely delivery of data and video products for mission support and in theater information transfer.

PathFinder CEO Roger McGarrahan said this latest award comes shortly after the company won a contract with the U.S. Air Force to supply it with similar terminals. “It is gratifying to see PathFinder’s BAT-GBS-85 terminal (TGRT) get such wide acceptance and deployment within the U.S. Armed Forces,” he said in the announcement.

Financial details of the purchase order were not disclosed.
