EutelsatAwarded KA-SAT Internet Service Contract from Telefonica

Telefonica Global Solutions will use Eutelsat’s high-performance Ka-Sat satellite to provide high quality satellite broadband services to carriers from all over Europe.

Telefonica aims to use the Ka-Sat capacity to offer European carriers solutions that are as reliable and as competitive in prices as terrestrial broadband services.

GoGo Enters In-Flight Partnership with SES

In-flight connectivity company GoGo and SES have partnered to deliver GoGo broadband services aboard commercial airliners flying over the North Atlantic Ocean Region, Europe and the United States.

Three SES satellites—SES-1 serving continental United States; NSS-703 serving the North Atlantic; and SES-4 serving Europe—aim to enable the expansion of Gogo’s in-flight coverage. GoGo’s services via the NSS-703 aim to be transitioned to the new SES-6 satellite by mid 2014.
