[Satellite TODAY 01-30-13] Inmarsat is launching Remote Terminal Manager, a solution which provides management and control over unmanned M2M terminals in the field. Inmarsat announced the launch, Jan. 30. The tool will enable users of the company’s M2M portfolio services, including BGAN M2M, to control their devices remotely, without having to dispatch teams to troubleshoot or manually reboot terminals.

 

    The Remote Terminal Manager uses a map interface to show Inmarsat M2M users where their assets are across the globe, and the status of those terminals. The tool allows users to control the terminals from a single location.

 

    The solution also uses technology licensed from Galaxy1, an independent satellite communications services provider and member of the Inmarsat partner community.
