[Satellite TODAY 12-03-12] Arianespace has launched its fourth Soyuz rocket with the Pléiades 1B observation satellite onboard for French space agency CNES from the Guiana Space Center (CSG) in French Guiana, the company announced Dec. 3.

The Soyuz at CSG program aims to give Europe a medium-capacity launch vehicle to complement the Ariane 5 heavy launcher and the Vega light launcher, allowing Arianespace to be capable of launching all types of payloads to all orbits.
The Soyuz ST-A launcher lifted off from the Soyuz Launch Complex (ELS) at the CSG on Dec. 1, 2012 at 11:02:50 p.m. local time.
