Consumer GPS navigation products firm Magellan releasing a new GPS car kit for iPhones that enhances it with more powerful antennas to transform it into a dashboard navigation device. The cradle is also a charging station for the phone and is equipped with a Bluetooth speaker.

Magellan’s GPS Car Kit costs approximately $100 and it can be adjusted to any iPhone 3GS, 4 and 4S and to some iPod Touch. A version for the recent generation of Apple products, such as the iPhone 5, has not been released. Like many of the company’s products, this one also has a suction cup mount that sticks to a car’s windshield.

The GPS Car Kit works with any navigation app but it has been reported to be faster with Magellan’s own $50 app.
