 [Satellite TODAY 11-08-12] The South African Maritime Safety Authority (SAMSA) has renewed their exactAIS Data Service with exactEarth through Oct. 2014, the company announced Nov. 8.

SAMSA is involved with the use of space based AIS data and improving South African Maritime safety and security. With this renewal, SAMSA will now be able to access exactAIS Premium data, which delivers AIS data as one integrated feed allowing for comprehensive and berth-to-berth vessel tracking.
"Satellite based AIS has now become a critical infrastructure component for all Maritime Safety Authorities, providing advanced reporting and wide area monitoring of extremely large maritime area," exactEarth Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing John Allan said in a statement. "We are delighted to be working with SAMSA to develop uses and applications of Satellite based AIS that will benefit the maritime community at large."
