Satmex Hires new Director of North American Sales

Satélites Mexicanos (Satmex) has hired Erik Hansen as its director of North American sales.

Hansen has more than 12 years of experience in the North America telecommunications market, with an emphasis in satellite communications. He previously served in diversified engineering and sales positions at PanAmSat, Norcomp, the U.S. Army and Intelsat. His most recent position was at Tachyon Networks, where he served as vice president of sales.

GMV USA Hires Director of Defense and Business Development

Spanish satellite ground systems supplier GMV named Julia MacDonough director of defense and intelligence business development for its U.S. operation GMV USA. MacDonough will be responsible for leading GMV through the U.S. Department of Defense acquisition process, program management and strategic business planning.

ViaSat CFO Retires; Duffy Takes Interim Role

Satellite communications systems provider ViaSat CFO Ronald Wangerin will resign from his position after 10 years of service. Wangerin will remain with the company until Dec. 17 to assist with the transition of his responsibilities. ViaSat Vice president Shawn Duffy will take over for Wangerin as interim CFO, while the company searches for a full-time replacement.

Duffy joined ViaSat in 2005 as corporate controller and was promoted to vice president, corporate controller and chief accounting officer in April 2012. She previously served as a senior manager at Ernst & Young LLP, which serves the technology and consumer product markets.
