Comtech Telecommunications subsidiary Comtech EF Data was awarded a $2.5 million contract for satellite earth station equipment for a mobile operator in Latin America, the company announced May 9.
   Comtech said the equipment order included the CDM-625 advanced satellite modem, the CDM-750 advanced high-speed trunking modem and the LPOD block up-converters. The Latin American customer will use the equipment for a significant network expansion for mobile backhaul.    “Our products are supporting mobile backhaul and trunking applications for operators around the globe,” Comtech CEO Fred Kornberg said in a statement. “This order is another testament to our ability to facilitate bandwidth efficiencies and cost-effective expansion.”
   Financial details of the order were not disclosed.
