Brazilian broadcaster Rede Novo Tempo de Comunicação has renewed and expanded its long-term capacity agreement with SES for the distribution of its video and radio channels to audiences throughout Latin America, the Caribbean, North America and Western Europe, the operator confirmed.

The multi-year, multimillion-dollar deal secures Rede Novo Tempo’s capacity on the SES NSS-806 satellite, but SES-6 will take over the distribution of Rede Novo Tempo channels from the 319.5 degrees East when it is launched in early 2013.

SES-6 is one of seven SES satellites to be launched during the operator’s extensive fleet investment program, which is aimed at meeting increasing demand for capacity over emerging markets.

“The renewed and expanded [Rede Novo Tempo] capacity agreement also serves as a case study for other programmers and networks looking to reach new and larger audiences more efficiently and effectively,” SES Vice President of Latin America Sales Dolores Martos said in a statement.
