Comtech EF Data has received a $1 million order for satellite communications equipment from an unnamed Latin American mobile operator, the Comtech Telecommunications Corp. subsidiary confirmed.

   The Latin America customer will use the equipment, which includes modems and RF products, to perform a network expansion and support traffic and subscriber growth, Comtech EF Data said. Both Comtech’s CDM-625 and CDM-570/L satellite Modems were specified in the order.

   “This customer selected the Comtech brand based on our track record of enabling mobile operators globally to reduce operating expenses and better utilize satellite bandwidth,” Comtech President and CEO Fred Kornberg said in a statement.
