Quake Global Adds Inmarsat Network Capability to Q-Pro Modem
Machine-to-Machine (M2M) communicator manufacturer Quake Global has enhanced its Q-Pro satellite data modem with new abilities that can be used over the Inmarsat network.
The new Inmarsat capability will allow Quake to deliver low-cost satellite tracking and data services via the Inmarsat-4 satellite fleet. The Q-Pro can also be configured for Inmarsat’s IsatData Pro service to download near real-time messages of up to 10,000 bytes to any device, and send up to 6,400 bytes from these devices.
Vizada Launches iDirect-Based Broadband Service in East Africa
Vizada Networks is set to unveil its new connectivity services based on the implementation of an iDirect hub at its established facility on East Africa’s coast.
Vizada said the services will be based on its next-generation shared connectivity solution, Viznet Dynamic, and are designed to enable Internet connectivity to and from towns and villages in Tanzania.
The Viznet Dynamic services will be targeted to organizations and businesses with branches in the Eastern Africa region, using iDirect DVB-S2/ACM satellite technology to deliver secure broadband connections. The service also uses small, easy to deploy Ku-band antennas that require low upfront investment in equipment.
