Integral Systems Europe Awarded Asiasat contract
Integral Systems Europe (ISE UK) has been awarded a contract by AsiaSat to upgrade two satellite terminals at its Tai Po Earth Station. Construction work for the expansion of the Earth station will be completed in early 2012. When complete, the new system aims to expand AsiaSat’s transmission capacity and provide flexible transponder access across its satellite fleet.
The Tai Po Earth station functions to provide value-added services including C-band and Ku-band traffic uplink, signal turnaround, MCPC platforms and backup services to customers.
MT Aerospace Selected to Provide Iridium Next Propellant Tanks
Thales Alenia Space has issued a subcontract to MT Aerospace Satellite Products to manufacture 81 propellant tanks for the Iridium Next satellite constellation, MT announced.
The contract, which is the largest in the England-based MT Aerospace subsidiary’s company history, will see MT Satellite Products deliver titanium diaphragm tanks for the next-generation constellation of satellites.
Acting as prime contractor for Iridium Next, Thales Alenia Space is responsible for managing engineering development, systems integration and manufacture of the space segment comprising 66 operational Iridium satellites, six in-orbit spare satellites and nine ground spare satellites, which are to begin launching in 2015.
