Advantech Wireless Upgrades Transcend Backhaul Solution

Advantech Wireless has released the latest version of its Transcend 800 microwave radio and will target the product for broadcasting backhaul markets.

The upgraded Transcend 800 features eight new ASI interfaces, developed in response to customer demand. The unit provides a bit rate of 214 Mbps per ASI interface, which allows eight HD contribution quality channels to be supported in a single unit, reducing the overall footprint and the number of units needed, the company said.

Globecomm Deploys Wireless Platform for 4G/LTE Migration

Globecomm Systems has rolled out its wireless hosted platform, which aims to enable 2G and 3G operators to migrate to 4G/LTE.

The upgraded platform will encompass the migration of both CDMA/EVDO and GSM/UMTS to LTE. Globecomm will support the platform from its redundant fiber circuits and dedicated power and generator systems housed at its network operations center in New York.
 

Numerex Partners With Tekelec to Market New M2M Solutions

Numerex entered into a strategic partnership with mobile broadband solutions company Tekelec to deliver and market M2M solutions to global service providers.

The solutions will combine Numerex’s M2M service platforms and embedded and integrated devices with Tekelec’s M2M service enablement solution, including: subscriber data management, policy and session management, mobile messaging and its Performance Intelligence Center service.
 

Wavestream Unveils C-Band Solid State Power Amplifiers

Wavestream has introduced indoor and outdoor PowerStream 400-watt C-band solid state power amplifiers as plug-and-play replacements for traditional 750-watt traveling wave tube amplifier (TWTA) products used in satellite communications, teleport and satellite news gathering systems.

The PowerStream 454C-i (indoor) and 454C-o (outdoor) products aim to provide a lower-power, cost-effective, solid-state solution to support applications where larger antennas or more powerful satellites are used.
