The first customer is German shipping company Hapag-Lloyd, which signed a five-year contract with Stratos to equip the solution on about 40 of Hapag-Lloyd’s vessels.

Vizada has launched its Pharostar proprietary VSAT fixed satellite communications service as part of its maritime broadband portfolio.

Pharostar also enables Vizada to match the dual requirements of many of its shipping company users by bundling it with other services in its portfolio such as Inmarsat FleetBroadband or Iridium OpenPort.
