BT Deploys iDirect Evolution Platform Upgrade

Satellite communications solutions and services provider BT is upgrading its EMEA satellite network infrastructure to iDirect’s Evolution platform.

The upgrade aims to allow BT to operate its satellite network more efficiently for enterprise and government customers. BT’s Evolution platform will support a wide range of more bandwidth-intensive enterprise applications, including virtual private networks, Voice-over-IP and videoconferencing. BT plans to complete the migration of its customers to iDirect Evolution X3 remotes during the remainder of 2010.
 

NetUp Unveils IPTV Integration Solution

Moscow-based IPTV solutions provider NetUp has released version 1.6 of its NetUp IPTV complex with a renovated set of scalable IPTV software and hardware for both medium and large installations.

The upgrade aims to make all elements of the IPTV complex compatible with each other and eliminate additional integration. Other feature upgrades include automatic notification services, account information access, parental control and optimized fast-forwarding and rewinding.

The IPTV complex facilitates a telco or an ISP to provide various services such as satellite, terrestrial and cable TV channels, video on demand, IPTV players and billing and rating systems. The solution’s middleware incorporates a server and a set-top box client, which is a native application loaded into an IP set-top box.
 

Skyline Enhances IPTV Network Management Platform

Skyline Communications unveiled its DataMiner 6.5 update to its DataMiner network management system platform.

The upgrade includes packaging the solution with DataMiner Cube UI, a new version of DataMiner’s service management technology. The interface aims to enable operators to interact end-to-end with their operational ecosystem with greater efficiency. DataMiner CPE Manager uses cross-correlation analysis to compare operational data it has collected against a comprehensive, multi-dimensional system model in real-time.

The multi-vendor network management solution is targeted to operators in the IPTV, HFC broadband, broadcast and satellite industry and has been deployed by operators such as Eutelsat, GlobeCast, MTV, Telenor and Virgin Media.
