Glowlink Upgrades Spectrum Monitoring System
Glowlink has released the third generation of its Model 1000 spectrum monitoring system, which includes upgrades such as paired-carrier monitoring, increased signal speed and characterization, updated monitoring tools for personalized operations, and improved data archiving, retrieval and display.
The new unit’s features also are available on Glowlink’s dual-channel Model 1000×2 and ultra wideband Model 1010 products. Glowlink is offering free upgrades to active Model 1000 system participants.
Inmarsat Releases IsatPhone Pro Handset Specifications
Inmarsat unveiled its IsatPhone Pro handset, which marks Inmarsat’s entrance into the global handheld marketplace.
The phone will have up to eight hours talk time and up to 100 hours on standby and will be dust, splash and shock resistant and capable of operating at temperatures from -20 to 55 degrees Celsius.
While the Bluetooth-compatible handset is set at a suggested retail price of $699, Inmarsat said promotions are expected to bring the end-user price to $500 to $600. Retail airtime rates will be at around $1 per minute.
Vizada Releases New Mobile Satellite Video Software
Vizada launched a video software program designed to enable users operating in remote areas to edit, compress and send video images over a mobile satellite terminal.
The SkyFile Video program was built on software developed by SeaMobile Europe, a mobile satellite service provider and specialist in video solutions. The video tool provides upgraded compression rates and user-friendly features and interface from its previous version. The program is powered by ClipWay and can be used on land, at sea or in the air with IP-based mobile satellite terminals such as Inmarsat BGAN, FleetBroadband and SwiftBroadband, Iridium OpenPort and ThurayaIP, or with ISDN services such as Inmarsat GAN and Fleet.
