Ericsson Wins 3-D Technology Award

The Ericsson 3-D content delivery solution, featuring the company’s MPEG-4 AVC HD contribution encoder, won the 2010 Superior Technology Award Recipient (STAR) award at the 2010 NAB Show.

The STAR Award is designed to honor and showcase outstanding technological innovations available to the broadcast industry. Ericsson’s 3-D solution was recognized for addressing challenges in both contribution and distribution as well as optimizing direct-to-home delivery of 3-D content.

Qinetiq Ion Thruster Team Recognized at Clarke Awards

Qinetiq’s ion propulsion team has been named team of the year by the Sir Arthur Clarke.

Qinetiq won for its work on the European Space Agency’s (ESA) GOCE Spacecraft, which was launched using Qinetiq T5 ion thrusters. QinetiQ is supplying advanced T6 thrusters for ESA’s BepiColombo mission to Mercury.
