WildBlue Communications Former CEO Named 2009 Communications Executive of the Year

Former WildBlue Communications CEO Dave Leonard was named the Communications Technology Professionals (CTP) 2009 Communications Executive of the Year.

The award recognizes Leonard for growing WildBlue Communications to obtain a 44 percent share of the U.S. rural satellite ISP market, which constitutes about 400,000 rural broadband subscribers within 48 states.

Leonard joined WildBlue in 2005 and left the company in October after it was acquired by ViaSat.
