SES, University of Luxembourg Plan Communications Center of Excellence
[Satellite TODAY 03-15-10] SES signed a long-term deal with the University of Luxembourg to develop Luxembourg as a European center of excellence and innovation for advanced information communications technology in satellite systems, SES announced March. 10.
Under the auspices of the the Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust, the two organizations will collaborate on research in satellite applications and services, satellite hybrid networks, and transmission and reception technologies as well as on the legal and regulatory challenges in the space, telecommunications and media sectors. They also will create a university chair in satellite, telecom and media law.
“We are very excited about it, and we hope that the collaboration with SES will lead to improvements and innovations in satellite and communication technologies which will make a difference worldwide. We are very grateful for the very significant contribution of our partner,” Rolf Tarrach, president of the University of Luxembourg, said in a statement.
