Comtech EF Data Releases CDM-750 Trunking Modem
Comtech EF Data introduced its CDM-750 high-speed trunking modem to the commercial market.
The CDM-750 modem combines DVB-S2, adaptive coding and modulation and DoubleTalk carrier-in-carrier technologies. The product aims to provide efficiencies and throughput for demanding point-to-point and backhaul links supporting telco operators and Internet service providers.
The CDM-750’s architecture also supports applications such as IP trunking, G.703 trunking and high-speed content delivery for disaster recovery and emergency services.
HaiVision Sends New HD Video Encoder With DVI to Market
HaiVision has released its Makito video encoder equipped with a DVI input that will deliver low-latency, full-frame-rate H.264 encoding of high-definition video up to 1080p or computer graphics resolutions up to 1280×1024 resolution. Makito supports component analog, DVI and XGA inputs.
The model upgrade aims to augment HaiVision’s Makito-SDI, released in 2009, by supporting high-definition 3G-SDI and HD-SDI as well as standard-definition SDI, composite and S-video.
Inmarsat IsatPhone Technology Ready for June Roll Out
Inmarsat has made the first call using IsatPhone, the company’s new global handheld service scheduled for launch in June.
IsatPhone Pro, which is being marketed to the government and enterprise sectors, aims to offer satellite telephony with Bluetooth for hands-free use, voicemail, text and e-mail messaging from service provided by three Inmarsat-4 satellites.
Inmarsat and its development partner Sasken Communications Technologies chose Elcoteq to produce IsatPhone Pro at its facility in Tallinn, Estonia. Eleven distribution partners have been selected.
Iridium Introduces Second-Generation 9602 SBD Transceiver
Iridium Communications has unveiled Iridium 9602, its next-generation satellite data transceiver,
The Iridium 9602 is a full-duplex short-burst data transceiver designed for embedded applications serving remote asset tracking and monitoring solutions. The 9602 model is 69 percent smaller and 74 percent lighter than the first-generation Iridium 9601 unit.
The product has completed prototype testing and is scheduled for commercial delivery in June.
SkyBitz Releases Remote Asset Management, Tracking Solution
SkyBitz has launched the GLS400 Mobile Terminal, an asset management solution based on its Global Locating System (GLS) technology.
The SkyBitz GLS400 M2M asset tracking solution is made of weatherproof Lexan polycarbonate and powered by eight AA lithium batteries. The unit is being marketed to transportation, oil and gas, chemical, intermodal shipments, government, and other industries that rely on heavy equipment or remote assets.
SkyBitz said the GLS400 was taken through more than 160 independent quality tests throughout its development phase.
U-blox Unveils UnVeils Wireless Connectivity Product Line
U-blox, a provider of wireless communication and global positioning solutions, is set to release its Lucy product line of high-speed wireless modules supporting globally adopted mobile communications standards at the end of April.
The Lucy product line aims to support a wide range of machine-to-machine applications such as high-bandwidth multimedia systems for mobile Internet, Voice-over-IP routing, in-car multimedia and streaming video for remote media panels, and transfer of large data volumes for medical diagnostics, security and surveillance.
