CapRock Names DISA Officer as Director of Operations

CapRock Government Solutions named Augustine Ponturiero director of operations.

Ponturiero primarily will oversee the day-to-day functions of CapRock’s satcom division and its government-dedicated network operations center. He also will be responsible for the creation and maintenance of program management, while expanding existing customer programs and relationships.

Ponturiero previously served as program manager for the Enhanced Mobile Satellite Services program and as executive officer for the U.S. Defense Information Systems Agency’s joint information engineering organization and network services organization.
 

Cobham Appoints Chairman Designate

Military satellite communications company Cobham appointed John Devaney independent non-executive director and chairman designate.

Devaney is executive chairman of U.K.-based National Express and non-executive chairman of the U.K. National Air Traffic Services.

Devaney will take over for David Turner at the conclusion of Cobham’s annual general meeting in May.
 

SIA Elects 2010 Board Officers

The Satellite Industry Association (SIA) elected its board officers for 2010.

CapRock Government Solutions Vice President David Cavossa will serve as chairman, joined by Leslie Blaker of Rockwell Collins as vice chairman and Jennifer Warren of Lockheed Martin’s Washington, D.C. operations as treasurer.

Cavossa previously served as SIA’s vice chairman in 2009 and as executive director of SIA from 2004 through 2007.
