[Satellite TODAY 02-12-10] SES Astra’s Astra 3B spacecraft was delivered to Kourou in advance of a scheduled March 24 launch, Arianespace announced Feb. 11.
    Built by EADS Astrium, Astra 3B carries Ku- and Ka-band transponders designed to provide DTH and two-way broadband services across Europe and the Middle East. It will be placed at the 23.5 degrees East.
    The mission also will carry the ComsatBW-2 satellite for the German military.
