[Satellite Today 07-11-08] Modern Times Group (MTG), which runs satellite pay-TV operations in the Nordics and Eastern Europe, appointed Irina Gofman CEO of MTG Russia & CIS, the company said July 10.
    Gofman, also named member of the MTG´s executive management team, will be responsible for MTG´s free-TV and pay-TV activities in the region.
    Gofman previously served as CEO of Rambler Media Group, a Russian Internet media and services group, leading the company’s initial public offering and listing on the London Stock Exchange´s Alternative Investment Market. Prior to that, Gofman worked for MTG between 2002 and 2004 as COO of the Russian TV network DTV, where she was also instrumental in the launch of Viasat Broadcasting´s wholesale pay-TV business in Russia.
