[Satellite Today – 2-7-08] Orbital Sciences Corp. has promoted Michael Larkin to executive vice president and general manager of the Space Systems Group, the company announced Feb. 7.
    Larkin, who worked with Fairchild Space and Defense Corp. for 14 years prior to its acquisition by Orbital in 1994, previously served as senior vice president and general manager of the group.
    The Space Systems Group designs, produces and operates commercial communications and broadcast satellites, scientific and environmental research spacecraft, and national security space systems. The group also provides space-related scientific, engineering and manufacturing services to U.S. government laboratories and aerospace companies.
