Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd. will provide a SkyEdge broadband satellite network to SatCom Networks Africa Ltd., a Tanzanian public data communications operator, Gilat announced July 11.

SatCom Networks, which has operated Gilat VSAT networks throughout East Africa since 2002, will use the network to provide broadband connectivity, videoconferencing, Internet Protocol multicasting and voice over Internet Protocol services to government institutions and major corporations, including banking and financial customers.

Details of the contract were not announced.
