Starsys Inc. received a subcontract from the Air Force Research Laboratory Space Vehicles Directorate to continue development of deployable boom structures for satellites, SpaceDev announced June 21.

The $750,000, 24-month contract calls for Starsys, a subsidiary of SpaceDev, to develop a large, high-stiffness boom for the deployment and positioning of instruments and sensors.
