DigitalGlobe Adds To Image Library Expansion
Imagery and geospatial information provider DigitalGlobe plans to collect more than 106,500 square miles of U.S. aerial imagery during the second half of 2007, the company announced June 19.
Ready-to-purchase imagery at a 1-foot resolution will be gathered over more than 60 cities with populations greater than 50,000. That aggregation would bring DigitalGlobe’s new aerial markets to more than 257,900 square miles for 2007, including digital images of 108 U.S. cities. The company added that it will begin imaging urban areas with 6-inch resolution aerial images.
“Our growing constellation of satellites, our large investment in aerial collection plans, our content partnership programs and our software solutions ensure that customers have access to all DigitalGlobe imagery from the desktop, the Web or remote devices,” said Marc Tremblay, general manager of the company’s commercial business unit.
