Comtech EF Data Corp. was awarded a $2.5 million equipment order to support a satellite-based cellular backhaul network in Asia, the company announced June 14.

The order, from an unspecified mobile operator looking to support a telecommunication expansion program, includes satellite modems, redundancy switches, high-power outdoor amplifiers and transceivers, and Comtech’s new CX-U1000 series cellular backhaul platform from subsidiary Memotec.
