[5/14/07] Hughes Network Systems LLC (HNS) reported a profit of $4 million on revenues of $222.7 million in the first three months of 2007, the company announced May 10. A year ago, HNS posted a profit of $194,000 on revenue of $196.8 million.

"HNS had strong all-round financial performance in the first quarter of 2007, setting new records for revenue, operating income, [earnings before interest, taxes, debt and amortization] and orders," Pradman Kaul, president and CEO, said in a statement.

HNS added more than 41,000 new subscribers in the quarter, bringing its total subscriber base to 346,000 at the end of March. HNS added orders valued at $277.2 million in the 2007 first quarter, up from $150.6 million a year ago.
