An Ariane 5 launch vehicle with a dual-passenger payload of the Astra-1L and Galaxy 17 satellites has been cleared for liftoff following the launch readiness review performed at the Spaceport in French Guiana, Arianespace reported May 2.

The launch provider’s second heavy-lift mission of 2007 is set for a May 3 launch window set between 10:29 p.m. and 11:13 p.m. GMT (6:29 p.m. to 7:13 p.m. EDT).

The customers are SES Astra for Astra-1L and Intelsat for Galaxy 17; the payload prime contractors are Lockheed Martin Commercial Satellite Systems for Astra-1L and Thales Alénia Space for Galaxy 17.
