Raytheon Co. has been awarded a $14.5 million contract by the U.S. Air Force to build terminals for the Global Broadcasting Service (GBS), the company announced May 1.

Raytheon will build 59 Army receive suites and 69 Air Force Internet protocol receiver suites that provide commanders the ability to receive command and control information. The GBS broadcasts use three military UFO/GBS Ka-band satellites and leased Ku-band commercial satellites.
