DirecTV Names New Executives

DirecTV has promoted Derek Chang to executive vice president of content strategy and development; Dan Hartman to senior vice president of programming acquisition; and Eric Shanks to executive vice president of entertainment.
David Hill, who served as president of DirecTV Entertainment and chairman and CEO of Fox Sports, is returning to Fox on a full-time basis.
Dan Fawcett, executive vice president of programming acquisition and business & legal affairs, is leaving DirecTV to serve as president of Fox Digital Media.

MSV Names President, Satellite Services

Mobile Satellite Ventures (MSV) appointed John Mattingly to the position of president, satellite services, the company announced.
Prior to joining MSV, Mattingly served as president, satellite services, for Comsat Corp. and Lockheed Martin Global Telecom from 1997 to 2001 and as president of Comsat International from 2001 to 2002.

NDS Makes Indian Appointment

Kishore Shirekar has been named general manager for NDS India as the conditional access and middleware vendor aims for improved performance in the direct-to-home market in India.
Based in NDS’s Mumbai office, Shirekar will be responsible for commercial operations and customer support at NDS India, including developing business for pay-TV solutions in India while managing support operations for existing Indian customers Tata Sky, Hathway Cable and Datacom.

Spacenet Names Kittson For Expanded Government Services Efforts

Spacenet Inc. announced that Alan Kittson has joined the company as its vice president of government services sales.
