Digital+, Sogecable’s Spanish DTH platform, ended the first quarter of 2007 with nearly 2.1 million subscribers, having added a net 21,000 subscribers in the quarter to the end of March. In the past 12 months, the operator has added approximately 80,000 subscribers in Spain.

Digital+ had an average revenue per user figure of 47.9 euros ($64.90) in the quarter. The average subscription amounted to 40.1 euros ($54.33), and PPV revenues were 7.8 euros ($10.57).

Daniel Kerven, a media equity analyst at UBS, said in a research note published that first-quarter “net adds were 21,000 vs. 25,000 forecast, taking the total to 2,065,000. Churn was slightly better than expected at 10.9 percent, and ARPU broadly in line at 47.9 euros, with lower PPV revenues offset by price increases boosting the underlying subscription figure.”
