The Transformational Satellite Communications (TSAT) team of Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman has demonstrated the functionality of its Next-Generation Processor Router (NGPR) in a comprehensive test conducted by the U.S. government, Northrop Grumman announced April 17.

The next phase of the TSAT program is to provide an advanced generation of protected, wideband satellite communications for military and intelligence users.

In competition for the subsequent Development and Production phase of TSAT, planned to be awarded in late 2007, the team plans to further demonstrate its technological and systems engineering and integration strengths at a Space Segment Design Review planned for this month.
