C-COM Announces New Service
C-Com Satellite Systems Inc. has introduced a new class of satellite-based Internet service for its commercial/enterprise clients, the company announced.
The service offers broadband airtime with flexibility for customers to select specific rates of speeds, type of usage and many other parameters depending on their need, including the ability to easily change bandwidth requirements based on demand.
Thus C-Com may deliver two-way Internet services such as Voice over Internet protocol, video and high-speed broadband on demand to commercial or enterprise markets while extending reach into new geographic areas.
Hughes To Deliver Broadband Services For Orocom Services
Hughes Network Systems LLC will provide a broadband satellite solution for Islamabad, Pakistan-based Orocom Ltd., a technology systems provider, Hughes announced.The system will enable Orocom to deliver customized broadband services, including voice, data and video to customers throughout Pakistan and the neighboring region. Orocom will begin delivering the service by the end of March and plans to expand service to Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Central Asian States and North Africa.
The value of the contract was not disclosed.
ND SatCom Implements IP-Based Network In Indonesia
ND SatCom has teamed with Studio Hamburg Media Consult International to provide an Internet protocol (IP)-based radio contribution and distribution network for Radio Republik Indonesia, ND SatCom announced.
The network collects IP data streams of regional and national content from several studios. Digital multicast streams are sent via satellite to 95 radio transmit stations for terrestrial distribution.
Spacenet Chosen To Provide Network For Mobile Telemedicine
Spacenet Inc. has been selected by the Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences Telemedicine Center to provide satellite network services for its new mobile telemedicine clinic, Spacenet announced.
No financial details were disclosed.
