Ascent Media Network Services Names Managing Director For Singapore

Ascent Media Network Services has appointed Wee Way Kiat managing director of its Asian business, the company announced.
Wee, who will be based in Singapore, will have operational, strategic and financial responsibility for network origination and connectivity services in the region. He previously served as managing director for ST Teleport.

DirecTV Names New Executives

DirecTV has promoted Derek Chang to executive vice president of content strategy and development; Dan Hartman to senior vice president of programming acquisition; and Eric Shanks to executive vice president of entertainment.
David Hill, who served a dual role as president of DirecTV Entertainment and chairman and CEO of Fox Sports, is returning to Fox on a full-time basis. Dan Fawcett, executive vice president of programming acquisition and business & legal affairs, is leaving DirecTV to serve as president of Fox Digital Media.

Lyman Brothers Names COO

Lyman Bros. Inc., a satellite communications provider, has named Bill Raney its COO.
Raney joined Lyman Bros. Inc in 1995 and was promoted to vice president in 2001 to assume leadership of GlobalSat, the company’s Laurel, Md.-based subsidiary.
