MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. (MDA) signed a contract amendment valued at $8.7 million Canadian ($7.5 million) with the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) to support ongoing operations of the Mobile Servicing System and upcoming pre-launch activities preparing the Dextre manipulator for operation aboard the International Space Station later this year.

The two-armed manipulator is part of the Mobile Servicing System, Canada’s contribution to the International Space Station. The Mobile Servicing System, including Canadarm2, is built and supported by MDA under contract to the CSA.
