Globecomm Systems Inc., a global provider of end-to-end, value-added, satellite-based communications systems, has received a $9.7 million indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract from a U.S. government customer, the company announced March 9.

The contract is for multiple units of Globecomm’s Explorer line of portable satellite terminals. Apart from it, the U.S. government has utilized the IDIQ contract vehicle to purchase $15.2 million of similar products over the past six months, excluding this award.

Globecomm expects to fulfill the contract by the end of its fiscal first quarter, Sept. 30.
