Near Earth Adds Advisory Board Members

Near Earth LLC has added three members to its advisory board: Ted Bolton, president of Bolton Research Corp.; Gary Hatch, president and CEO of ATCi; and Stuart Jacob, founding executive and senior vice president of SignStorey Inc.

Pace Names New CFO

Set-top box manufacturer Pace Micro Technology named Stuart Hall as its new CFO. Hall will join Pace in April, succeeding David Brocksom. Damien Wilkinson, Pace’s group financial controller, will head the finance team in the interim.

ProtoStar Names Paul Froelich As CFO

ProtoStar Ltd. has appointed Paul Froelich as CFO, the Bermuda-based company announced.
    Froelich previously served as CFO for WildBlue Communications and prior to that was involved in infrastructure finance in Asia for an affiliate of Bechtel Enterprises.
    ProtoStar plans to create a three-satellite constellation to serve the fast-growing Asian direct-to-home satellite-TV market. The company recently completed successful funding efforts which have raised more than $250 million.

SES New Skies Adds Read For Regulatory Affairs

Joslyn Read has joined SES New Skies as vice president for regulatory affairs in the company’s Washington, D.C., office.
    Read previously served as head of regulatory affairs for Hughes Network Systems. Previously she has held positions at the U.S. Federal Communications Commission, WorldSpace and Comsat Mobile.

Swedish Space Names New CEO

Lars Persson has been appointed president and CEO of Swedish Space Corp., the company announced.
    Persson previously served as CEO for Marratech AB and will replace the retiring Claes-Goran Borg.

TerreStar Names Freeman Chairman

William Freeman was named chairman of TerreStar Networks Inc. Freeman has served as TerreStar’s director since May 2005 and has been chairman of the company’s audit and compensation committees.
    Jared “Jerry” Abbruzzese resigned as chairman of TerreStar but will serve on a board of advisors for TerreStar Global, Motient said.
