International Datacasting Corp. (IDC) will provide a next generation DVB-S2 broadband satellite communications system to Telesat Canada.

IDC and U.S.-based Efficient Channel Coding a subsidiary of ViaSat, will supply a hub, terminals, installation, support services and development software to implement a next generation intelligent network to introduce artificial intelligence  to create an intelligent satellite.

IDC also announced that its subsidiary, Profline B.V., has signed a contract valued at more than $1.2 million Canadian ($1 million) to provide a new European satellite distribution network for a major broadcaster in Spain.
