Comtech Mobile Datacom Corp. has signed a joint technology development agreement with Thrane & Thrane A/S to develop next-generation mobile satellite solutions for the U.S. Department of Defense and other military customers, the companies announced Feb. 21.

Under the agreement, Thrane & Thrane and Comtech will develop a dual mode satellite terminal for the Pentagon and other allied military forces. The terminal will combine Comtech’s mobile satellite terminal technology with Thrane & Thrane’s Inmarsat Broadband Global Area Network (BGAN) terminal and network technology.
