Avail Media signed a contract to offer Intelsat’s MPEG-4 content aggregation and delivery service – Intelsat IPTV – beginning in the second quarter, Intelsat announced Feb. 20.

Intelsat IPTV combines PanAmSat’s satellite fleet with Intelsat’s IPTV expertise.

Avail Media will use the Intelsat IPTV service to provide telco operators, fiber-to-the-home providers and independent cable operators with Avial’s turnkey solutions, which include content rights, subscriber management, middleware and local integration.

The service will launch on satellites in Intelsat’s North American cable arc.
