Globecomm is introducing its SatCell managed network services to provide carriers with a mobile network for serving low-density markets and geographically isolated areas as well as provided satellite service for sudden, limited-duration demand, Globecomm announced Feb. 12.

SatCell is designed to generate revenue opportunities by allowing carries to rapidly launch networks or extend existing ones while deferring capital costs for switches and fiber backhaul. SatCell can be used to connect isolated "telecom islands," expand coverage to meet short-term demands and supplement an existing network’s coverage to deploy new services or capabilities.
