South Africa-based ComputaMaps has released BrightEarth, a natural-color image mosaic covering 95 percent of the Earth’s land surface at a resolution of 14.5 meters, the company announced Feb. 9.

The maps were created using orthorectified Landsat-7 imagery acquired between 1999 and 2002 for NASA’s GeoCover program. ComputaMaps used proprietary algorithms to transform original false-color GeoCover imagery mosaics into a single color-balanced global mosaic.
