Arrowhead Wins $20 Million DISA Task Order
Arrowhead Global Solutions Inc. received an order from the U.S. Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) to provide the U.S. Marine Corps with expanded commercial satellite capabilities.
Arrowhead, in conjunction with SES, will provide bandwidth availability, portability and mobility to support missions in the United States, Europe, Southwest Asia, Southeast Asia, Africa and Central Asia.
The task order, valued at about $20 million, has a one-year base and options that could extend the contract to 2011.
AsiaSat Signs Afghan Deal
Afghan broadcaster Shamshad TV will lease C-band capacity aboard AsiaSat 2, AsiaSat announced.
Shamsad will use the capacity to distribute programming to broadcast networks across Afghanistan and other countries in Central and South Asia and the Middle East.
Harris Receives order for router
A-Medialynx has ordered a Harris Corp. Platinum router for the playout of its satellite service in Germany. A-Medialynx manages several signal transmissions, including those of TV stations such as MTV, VIVA, VIVA Plus and Nick Germany. The Platinum router, slated to begin operation in February, will serve as the core component of the signal distribution workflow at A-Medialynx, routing all satellite transmission signals and distributing them to additional satellite uplinks.
