A captive audience of travelers waiting out delays in Denver International Airport (DIA) can bide their time watching DirecTV following the Dec. 28 launch of the satellite TV provider’s first airport retail kiosk.

Marking an exclusive, multi-year deal with DIA to provide programming in select areas of the facility, DirecTV began showcasing its high-definition and digital video recorder services to travelers awaiting flights. Visitors can watch 52 channels offered at the airport as well as sign up for residential or commercial business services.

"Travelers arriving earlier and spending more time in airports waiting for their flights now have a new way to enjoy their down time and experience DirecTV first-hand," John Suranyi, DirecTV’s president of sales and service, said in a statement.

DIA, the world’s 10th busiest airport, is home to more than 30 airlines and expects to be visited by more than 900,000 travelers throughout the holiday season.
