Scopus Video Networks has been chosen by a consortium formed by Embratel, Star One and Bull to provide a compressed digital video distribution solution for Boticario, one of the largest personal care companies in Brazil, the companies announced Oct. 26.

This Scopus solution will provide digital compressed video distribution and a range of multimedia services such as voice over Internet protocol, streaming data transmission, Internet and intranet among the company’s 2,000 shops across Brazil, its headend in Quatro Barras-PR and the Star One uplink site at Guaratiba in Rio de Janeiro.

Embratel and Star One are, respectively, the major long-distance carrier and satellite operator in Brazil, serving customers in both the Brazilian corporate and consumer markets.
