Daniel Marcus, formerly the vice president for corporate communications at PanAmSat Corp. [SPOT], has established his own marketing and communications firm, Marcus Associates LLC, in Westport, Conn.

He said the company plans to work with corporate clients in satellite industry, including PanAmSat, as well as those in wireless and broadband communications, entertainment, aerospace, electronics, e-business and financial services.

During his seven years at PanAmSat, Marcus was responsible for media and investor relations, marketing and market research, employee communications, event planning and creative services.

He led a corporate rebranding program, carried out 14 satellite launch campaigns, managed crisis communications during the nationwide pager outage and completed marketing and public relations programs in Australia, Japan, South Africa and the United Kingdom, as well as in the United States.
