Globalstar L.P. [GSTRF] said it supplied 11 Qualcomm Inc. [QCOM] phones to the South Korean delegation to the recent Summit Meeting between the presidents of South and North Korea.

South Korean officials accompanying President Kim Dae Jung were able to stay in touch with each other and with their colleagues in Seoul, Globalstar said. The phones transmitted clear voice signals via the Globalstar satellites and a gateway located in Yeoju, South Korea.

“The Korean summit was a historic breakthrough in communications between these two countries, and we are very proud to have been a part of this important event,” said Tony Navarra, president of Globalstar. “As discussions and visits continue between North and South Korea, Globalstar will be invaluable to future visitors to the North, including government officials, business people and even tourists,”he added.
