Giancaro Leone has taken up the post of director at Rai Uno replacing Agostino Sacca in one of a series of changes at the public broadcaster. Stefano Munafo has replaced Francesco Pinto as director of Rai Tre, while the former head of programming at rival Mediaset, Mario Brugola has been appointed director of RAI’s Division One, the key unit that oversees its two main stations Rai Uno and Rai Due. Brugola left Mediaset last September in the wake of a management conflict. Changes are also expected at the commercial network itself. Giovanni Ives, the son of Mediaset president Fedele Confalonieri, is to be nominated director general of Mediadigit, the broadcaster’s subsidiary for new digital technologies.
